at the Collin County, Texas heifer show on January 13, 2006. Another Blue
Ribbon Day, good job Heather.

12 January 2006
Thanks to Jimmie West for this weeks
picture. A really nice calf, I think it is by JWest's King Cole. Spends
her time walking the cattle guard to get in the yard to her favorite Live
Oak tree. A really nice calf.

5 January 2006
This picture was taken late in
afternoon on 1/4/06. Two young bulls trying to sort out who is going to be
the boss. Neither seem to be very serious about it.

29 December 2005
A really nice 3/4 heifer. I believe she
will make an excellent cow. She is 2 days short of one year old in
picture. She is very inquisitive and not at all shy about getting close
enough to really look you and your camera over with a keen eye. This is
not a telephoto. I was sitting on the ground inviting her in for a closer
look.

22 December 2005
This picture was taken on 12/21/05
about 3:30 pm. The pond in background when totally full usually covers
about 2+ acres and now is barely a large puddle. Our part of Texas is in
probably the most severe drought in our history for this time of year. Our
last decent rainfall was July 4 & 5. Most all the large ponds are 8 to 10
foot below normal and the smaller ones are all dried up.

15 December 2005
Since it is winter time and I didn't
get around to taking a current picture I dug this out of the archives. It
was taken January 1, 2001. Those of you that came to our Show & Meeting in
October 2005 may remember this area. It is just South of the pens where
the older bulls were penned. Thanks to the ice storm several of the trees
are totally gone.

8 December 2005
This week's picture comes to you from
"Balmy Minnesota". It is from Linda Hohenwald, she labeled it as "A Cute
Baby Bull" and not a word about cold weather. Knowing how hardy these
British Whites are I would guess that the coat of snow serves as a
blanket. Thanks Linda.

1 December 2005
A nice young half blood British White
Cow, just weaned her second calf. Her sire is a Fullblood Tuli.

24 November 2005
Bull calf is same one that was in last
weeks picture shown with his dam this week. Cow is a half sister to
Popeye, a really nice size cow, about 1050 to 1100 pounds as she stands
and 9+ years old. We think she will make a good donor cow, scheduled for
her first flush in December. Picture taken 11/23/05 about 3:30 PM.

17 November 2005
This nice bull calf is a result of
JWest Cattle breeding. He is 79 days old in this picture and the cow is
not his mom?? He is much too young to be for sale but Jimmie has a few
older bulls that are. See them on her website:

10 November 2005
A nice embryo transfer heifer calf with
her surrogate mom. A scene like this adds a little different color to your
British White pasture but embryo transfer sure helps produce a few more
British White calves quicker than conventional breeding. This one was
produced with help from
Mike Myers
Reproduction Services

3 November 2005
This nice heifer was bred by Jimmie
West at Colmesneil, Texas. She is a product of a half brother-half sister
mating, her sire & dam were both sired by Halliburton Colonel. A pretty
fancy little lady that has the makings of a great cow. A really good
representative of the British White breed. 5 months old in picture.

October 13, 2005 in the pasture near Todd's house.
