Results & Comments by Morris Halliburton

First, I want to thank everyone for helping to make the sale such a success; for us, British White Cattle, our British White Cattle Association and it's members.

Please fell free to use this information as an aid to help you in your endeavors with British White Cattle. Call on me if you think I can help.

Cattle registered with the British White Cattle Association of America are in Great Demand. I urge you to take advantage of it, keep your cattle registered up to date and be ready when an opportunity presents itself. Not a member of the BWCAA, contact the office for a Membership Application. See BWCAA Web Site.

New owners of the cattle hail from 7 states, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, New York, North Carolina and West Virginia.

Females were in Great Demand and the demand for bulls was adequate but could have been better. This was an absolute auction and the only animal we failed to get a bid on was a young bull. My guess is that had these been mature breeding age bulls instead of calves they would have been in greater demand.

Lot #22 was overall high selling lot, a cow-heifer/calf pair for $4300. Nine pairs averaged $3200.

Lot #1 was high selling bred cow, for $3850. Fifteen bred cows averaged $2400.

Lots 27 & 34 tied for high selling open heifer, each went for $2100. Nine open heifers aged from 11 to 12 ½ months averaged $1800.

Lot # 38 was high selling young bull, going for $1500. Six bulls aged from 9 to 12 months averaged $950.

Overall average for 39 lots was $2200.

Sincerely,
Morris Halliburton
