A.I. Bred cows are believed settled to bulls as noted. All of the spring 2002 calving cows were artificially Inseminated, turned out with our American Fullblood Bulls about 15 days later and then checked three times daily for Heat Activity Signs. If no activity was observed, we believe they are bred to the A.I. Bulls and that is the way they are shown in the catalog. If activity was observed they are shown as believed bred to the bull they were Pasture Exposed too. DNA is on file for all the Bulls used whether A.I. or pasture breeding.

Sight Unseen Purchases: Buyers unable to attend the sale may place bids with the auctioneer, his ring men or other representatives or any representative of Halliburton Farms. All sight unseen purchases are 100% satisfaction guaranteed. Purchases must be paid for within ten days of sale or before they leave the premises, whichever occurs first. We’ll work with you on transportation. In the past we have been able to get them delivered for $2.00 per loaded mile, about one to ten head per load. Some pooling may also be available.

Gearld Fry, Owner of Bovine Engineering & Consulting, Rose Bud, Arkansas, did a sonogram and linear measurement on the open heifers and young bulls in this sale. We have used the above table to include some of the results within their footnotes. We hope these brief explanations answer some of your questions.

DOA= Days of age on the day work was done. 
SW= Shoulder Width minus Rump Length in inches, we like this to be equal or better. Less is shown as minus (-).
RW%= Rump Width as a percentage of Rump Height, we like this to be a minimum of 40% on females and 44% on males.
RL%= Rump Length as a percentage of 2/3 of the Top Line, we do not want this to be over 40%, preferably 36% to 39%.
SC= Scrotal Circumference in centimeters. Room for lots of different opinions here. We think 28cm to 33 for a 365 day old bull and 39 to 41 on a 4 year or mature bull.
RWR= Rump Width Ratio is Rump Width minus Rump Length in inches, wider than long is a high fertility indicator.
TF= Tenderness Factor, this is something new to me. It has to do with how flat or horizontal the lines of inter-muscular fat show up on the sonogram. It is graded on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being most tender. We apologize for this being missing on 4 of the animals. Because it’s so new, someone forgot to do it on the first 4 animals. We believe they would also be TF1.
